Location Requirement: This is a hybrid position based out of our corporate headquarters in Vacaville, CA. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance and be able to work onsite as required.

Summary: Travis Credit Union's (TCU) Marketing Strategist is responsible for supporting all levels of staff within TCU with relevant research and analytics to aide in decision making and to evaluate the success of our marketing initiatives. They are the organization's “go to” resource for executing quantitative and qualitative direct response marketing research projects – designing the research instruments, conducting analysis assisting with the interpretation of research findings, and creating deliverables that support initiatives. Through management and reporting on key metrics, this role determines the return on investment (ROI) of TCU's marketing programs. 

Profile: 

  • Performs qualitative and quantitative market research using the appropriate data mining tools; prepares presentations and interprets all primary and secondary data. 
  • Actively seeks out new/relevant industry-level research/trends/best practices; builds and maintains shared research library. 
  • Owns reporting and analysis for all Marketing related campaigns. Provides Marketing leadership with data to design and optimize campaign strategies and tactics. Supports Marketing Analytics through ad-hoc requests and automation of reports. 
  • Collaborates with the Business Analytics team to perform analysis and offer insights gained from primary/secondary research as well as how to best integrate results/findings within our CRM ecosystem, building appropriate reporting tools. 
  • Supports the Retail Ops team with ownership of ongoing refinement, maintenance and management of incentive-based Marketing program. 
  • Facilitates and/or coordinates exchange of ideas and recommends appropriate research protocols to support stakeholder/ business objectives; executes and delivers results against recommended protocols. 
  • Acts as a business or enterprise partner providing guidance to stakeholders on research to support decision making. 
  • Partners in supporting TCU Marketing Cloud ecosystem through creating audience target lists, preparation of campaigns, inclusive of system execution and data related issue troubleshooting.
  • Supports Marketing Operations team through production of creative briefs, blog outlines and supporting research.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with internal business units and stakeholders.  

Skills: 

  • Strong business knowledge of the financial services industry products, services, and operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership for cross-discipline teams to integrate balance of appropriate research offerings.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic SQL skills recommended. Should be familiar with all types of joins, subqueries, where clause, group by.
  • Experience with Tableau or similar reporting visualization tool.
  • Marketing Cloud experience a plus.
  • Expertise of various primary and secondary research methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with various tools used for survey administration (Qualtrics a plus) and analysis (SPSS, SAS, etc.).
  • Able to manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Able to design, lead or collaborate in workshop-style meetings with internal stakeholders and/or members (lead focus groups).
  • Ability to analyze problems and opportunities, identify and evaluate alternatives, and develop sound, effective approaches and execute in a timely manner.
  • Accustomed to working within strict deadlines with a high commitment to accuracy and accountability. 
  • Expected to establish and maintain an effective working collaborative relationship with a diverse group of people including Marketing teammates, other business unit leaders, vendors, and other parties.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, organized, a self-starter and a great communicator. 
  • Demonstrates high ownership and ability to drive issues to resolution. 
  • Proven success in influencing and motivating people at all levels across a broad variety of job functions.
  • Ability to juggle many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items. 

Education & Experience:

  • Reports directly to assigned department leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Statistics or related Business and a minimum of 7 years of related experience; or a Master's degree and 6 years' experience; or equivalent related professional experience.
  • Minimum 1 year experience leading/mentoring junior level team members. May include direct reports as assigned.
  • Advanced Tableau Skills.
  • Basic SQL required, intermediate to advance preferred. Python skills a plus.
  • Manages data systems. Partners closely with Data Engineering to maintain marketing data sources and obtain access to data owned and managed by other Business Units.
  • Designs and executes A/B tests to drive growth and innovation in the marketing channel.
  • Responsible for measuring the market share impact of quarterly campaigns. 

Compensation:

Grade 19 Non-Exempt - $113,258.08 - $139,900.80/annually
