The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Occupational Therapist - Evaluator to join our school-based team in Kissimmee, FL on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This unique opportunity is ideal for an Occupational Therapist who enjoys assessment-focused work and is passionate about helping students access the services and supports they need to succeed in the educational setting.
In this role, you will conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, assess student needs, and provide thorough recommendations to support educational planning and service delivery. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to help identify appropriate interventions and accommodations that promote student success.
Qualifications- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active Florida Occupational Therapist license
- NBCOT certification
- OTR/L required
- Experience conducting pediatric occupational therapy evaluations
- School-based experience preferred
- Knowledge of special education processes, eligibility criteria, and IEP development
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, written communication, and report-writing skills
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for students referred for services
- Assess fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, self-help skills, functional performance, and school participation
- Interpret evaluation findings and prepare detailed written reports with recommendations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support eligibility determinations and service planning
- Participate in IEP and eligibility meetings to discuss assessment results and recommendations
- Recommend accommodations, modifications, adaptive equipment, and intervention strategies
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines
- Consult with educators, families, and related service providers regarding evaluation findings and student needs
