The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Newark, NJ for the 26/27 school year! This is a full-time Building Nurse role supporting a local K-12 district with nursing services.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Must have experience with pediatric diabetic management and working with pediatric patients with trachs
• Experience with O2 monitoring, seizure monitoring, med pass, G-tubes, diabetic management preferred
• Knowledge of nurse delegation practices and state scope-of-practice regulations
• Ability to work independently and exercise clinical judgment

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide first aid and manage everyday illnesses (headaches, stomachaches, injuries, etc.)
• Monitor students with chronic conditions (asthma, diabetes, seizures, allergies, mental health conditions, etc.) and follow orders to implement routine and PRN meds/care
• Verify medical orders, document medication administration, safely administer medications (routine and PRN)
• Will act as the lead response to medical emergencies on campus
• Train staff in emergency protocols and use of equipment.
• Develop and update IHP's (Individualized Healthcare Plans), IEP's (Individualized Education Plans) and 504 Plans related to medical conditions. Participate in meetings when needed. 
• Collaborate with parents and staff regarding students with medical needs.
• Conduct or assist in health screenings (vision, hearing, growth/BMI, BP checks).
• Delegate and supervise nursing tasks in accordance with state regulations

COMPENSATION:  $40-$45/hr * W-2 Contract * Newark, NJ
