Summary of Job Duties: The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the Psychiatric Research Institute (PRI) Walker Family Clinic will augment the psychiatrist's ability to provide medical services to patients – collect and document data, conduct diagnostic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations, and provide direct patient care services.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Arkansas
  • APRN License (PMHNP - Psychiatric Specialty)
  • National Certification as an APRN
  • Prescriptive authority and DEA License must be obtained after hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current BLS

Requirements:
  • ​Participates in institutional initiatives and encourages the participation of others. Collaborates in policy and program development, implementation, and evaluation using best practices in delivering quality service.
  • ​Collaborates with a variety of health care professionals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems serving as a resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
  • ​Manages post procedure immunosuppression and labs of patient in coordination with physician and pharmacist.
  • Coordinates specialized, multidisciplinary care and facilitates consults of patients to assure timely and appropriate treatment.
  • ​Provides comprehensive health assessments, determines diagnoses, implements treatment plans, prescribes medical treatments, and manages health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician.
  • Edits and documents results in various critical care systems.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
