Summary of Job Duties: The clinical Advanced Practice Nurse is a professional registered nurse and a designated member of the transplant team whose primary responsibilities are directly involved with coordinating the clinical aspects of care. The coordinator works with the patients and their families through and after transplantation, in a compassionate and tactful manner in order to facilitate access to and provide continuity of care.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Nursing

  • Current Arkansas APRN license (Adult or Family)

  • Three (3) years of nursing experience

Preferred experience:

  • Experience in organ transplant​


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).

  • Assumes lead in directing responsibility of all patient and family education. Maintains communication with patients referring physician. Acts as a liaison between patient families and other health care team members.

  • Assists with triage of post-patient calls during office hours and handles appropriately according to established protocol.

  • Evaluates post patient laboratory results for abnormalities and follows up accordingly.

  • Assures a smooth transition when patients are referred back to their referring physicians.

  • Other duties as assigned.
