Summary of Job Duties: We're looking for a Child Care Teacher III to join our team who will help us provide an amazing educational experience for our students. The Child Care Teacher III will be responsible for planning and executing lessons, leading activities, and supervising students. If you're passionate about early childhood education and have a desire to help young children learn and grow, UAMS Head Start/Early Head Start wants to hear from you!
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family Consumer Science, OR related field OR Bachelor's degree with a CDA, Child Care Orientation Training OR at least 6 early childhood credit hours PLUS one (1) year experience Early Childhood Education or related field.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Strong communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills
  • Knowledge of child development and best practices for early childhood education


Additional Information:

  • Maintains and implements Head Start educational goals and objectives of age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate activities for all children.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with children, parents and community leaders.
  • Monitors the health and safety of all children at all times.
  • Designs curriculum plans according to best practices, performance standards, childcare licensing and safety standards
