The Educator, Clinical Nursing Med Surg is responsible for the continuous learning processes of clinical nurse practitioners

Job Specific Responsibilities

Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:
• Engage staff in self-directed, unit based, and mandatory education modules/activities
• Plan and implement educational in-services and Evidence Based Practice learnings
• Oversee orientation process from in-processing to assimilation which includes but not limited to: project orientation hours, tracking required documents/certifications, continuous nursing education to ensure DNV readiness, continuously evaluation orientation of program for process improvements
• Ensure all certifications and required registered trainings are documented and filed according to DNV standards
• All other assigned duties related to Nursing Education

Education and Experience

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
Current RN licensure from Texas State Board of Nursing or holds a
recognized compact state licensure
• 3 years of professional nursing experience
• Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Acute Care.
• Supervisory experience desired
Skills and Abilities
• Excellent communicator, skilled in written and verbal communications
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to problem solve and exercise independent judgement
• Ability to influences professional role competence and professional growth of nurses in a variety of settings

Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
This position must interact closely with the medical staff and other ancillary areas in order to facilitate a quality multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
