The Call Center Agent - Laboratory plays a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care while the patient is at Union Health.
The Lab Services provides services related to lab tests, including specimen collection of the patients, and accessioning, lab tests performed on specimens, recording of lab test results, delivery of lab test results and more.

Call Center Agent - Laboratory Details

Essential Job Duties:

  • Performs administrative and clerical duties including scanning documents, managing verbal and written orders, answering phones, and resolving specimen-related issues.
  • Prepares and processes laboratory specimens by sorting, centrifuging, aliquoting, and staging samples for testing in accordance with laboratory protocols.
  • Utilizes computerized databases for data entry, research, and communication; maintains logs, tracks records, and demonstrates time management and organizational skills.
  • Handles and transports clinical specimens safely and accurately, following all OSHA, safety, and laboratory procedures, including referral testing and documentation requirements.
  • Communicates with healthcare providers and clients by answering inquiries, providing lab results, and assisting with outpatient and inpatient lab-related phone calls and reports.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret instructions and communicate clearly.
  • Professional and calm demeanor; able to work well under stress and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in basic computer and office skills; familiar with medical terminology.
