The Lab provides services related to lab tests, including specimen collection of the patients, and accessioning, lab tests performed on specimens, recording of lab test results, delivery of lab test results and more.

Specimen Processor Details
Specimen Processor Job Duties:
- Prepares laboratory specimens for designated departments/locations prior to laboratory analysis and testing.
- Unpacks specimens from branches or ports and routes specimens by type to various staging areas.
- Prepares all specimens received for testing in designated laboratory departments or locations, including staging of specimens, centrifuging, or separating serum or plasma.
- Performs data entry of test requisition information.
- Aliquots samples for departments.
- Prepares excess specimen samples for storage and resolves and documents problem specimens.
- Follows up on all pending referral testing.
- Handles newborn screens and drug screens for referral testing.
- Answers telephones, maintains logs/records, demonstrates organizational skills, proficiency with numbers, researches information, manages time, trains employees, uses computerized databases, and communicates effectively both in writing and verbally.
License/Certification:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
