This position is one of five in the Business Office. Annual expenses for the Arts departments and programs are in excess of $12M annually. There are approximately 300 undergraduate and graduate student employees hired annually and TAAG has approximately 45 cluster and departmental staff.


Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Business Office Manager, responsible for travel and entertainment support, asset management, cash deposits, p-card reconciliation as well as overflow for reimbursements, and purchasing / accounts payable. The Arts Administrative Group (TAAG) supports the Departments of Art & Art History, Cinema & Technocultural Studies, Design, Music and Theatre & Dance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Experience reviewing, understanding, applying, and working with travel and entertainment policies and procedures.
  • Experience using a computer to create and modify spreadsheets and databases, word processing skills and knowledge of automated financial systems such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint Skills to prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks, and meets multiple deadlines, under multiple interruptions.
  • Experience completing financial information system transactions on-line, using standardized approaches and techniques defined within central systems.
  • Experience analyzing and solving accounting problems and to prepare and review routine financial transactions.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

  • Oral and written communication skills to compose and prepare business correspondence, forms, and reports and to compile and edit draft reports and to express ideas and adjust complexity of message to level of audience.
  • Organizational skills to achieve timely progress on multiple simultaneous complex projects, distribute effort appropriately among projects, meet tight deadlines and maintain a high level of productivity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Education/Experience:    

  • Experience purchasing and procurement of supplies and services.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

  • Knowledge the UC Davis Financial Information System.
  • Knowledge of processing travel arrangements and monitoring travel activity and expenses using UC systems.
  • Familiarity of account maintenance, reconciliation, etc.
