Position Summary:   The UCI School of Education is focused on advancing educational sciences and contributing to improved educational opportunities and outcomes for individuals across the entire lifespan. Under the supervision of the Ph.D. Program Director, the Graduate Program Coordinator and Course Scheduler applies professional student services concepts to support the Graduate Programs in Education. In this capacity, the position is responsible for assisting the Ph.D. Program Director with admissions, recruitment, retention and community-building, program administration, and academic advising. In addition, this role provides larger service to the School of Education by managing the course schedule and other course-related duties. The Graduate Program Coordinator and Course Scheduler will work collaboratively with the Director of Student Affairs, the PhD Program Director, the Associate Dean of the Graduate Program, as well as students and faculty. Additionally, this position acts as a liaison with the School of Education's Dean's Office, UCI Graduate Division, and other campus administrative offices.

  The expected pay range for this recruitment is $24.72 - $29.00 (Hourly Rate). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $24.71 - $41.86 (Hourly Rate).

  Required:  
  • One to three years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. 
  • Ability to multi-task; verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Interpersonal skills. 
  • Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations. 
  • Ability in problem identification and reasoning. 
  • Skills in service orientation, organization, active listening, and critical thinking.
     
Preferred:  
  • Knowledge of University-specific computer application programs and pertinent databases. 
  • Basic knowledge of student immigration and visa processes pertaining to international students and scholars. 
  • Knowledge of University processes and procedures. 
  • Understanding of University rules and regulations.

 

Special Conditions Required:
 
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends for events and when necessary to meet deadlines.
