Position Summary:
  OLLI at UCI is an organization of lifelong learners who want to continue enhancing their lives through education. With vibrant minds and boundless curiosity, OLLI at UCI members discover, share, and build social connections with like-minded individuals in a rich learning environment. Members have access to a variety of exciting and thought-provoking short courses taught by UCI professors as well as other local professionals. Subject areas include literature, science, and the arts. Special events like wine tasting, theatrical performances, and trips to museums and other local attractions are also offered. OLLI at UCI relies on the contributions and participation of its members to develop classes, coordinate lecture series, lead small-group discussions, organize activities, and serve on committees and on the Board of Directors. Members also act as course facilitators, help with administration, and volunteer for all the tasks that make us a vital organization.
  Under the supervision of the Associate Dean of DCE but with direction from the V.P. of Administrative Services for OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute), the incumbent serves as an Office Manager/Program Manager for OLLI office and classroom facility, providing general support for OLLI programs, catalog development, and Board administration. Supports course and classroom activities, including catalog production, A/V equipment operation and training, classroom rosters, distribution of facilitator packets, communication with members, copying and distributing general instructional materials, and general classroom set-up. Participates in registration and enrollment. Leads other support staff and volunteers in troubleshooting student member enrollment and registration problems. Supports the administrative needs of the OLLI Board and course Developers and Facilitators. Participates with volunteer member committees to develop and implement special events. Assists in special projects requested by Board, such as researching and purchasing AV equipment, stationery, and Member ID cards. Develops and manages the content for the OLLI website. Helps to administrate the OLLI blog. Writes and distributes a weekly e-mail to all members with class updates, reminders, and other OLLI news. This is an in-person position. The manager must be willing to be at the OLLI facility M-F 8-5pm.

  The expected pay range for this recruitment is $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 (Annual Salary). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $51,600.00 - $87,400.00 (Annual Salary).

  Required:  
  • 2+ years of educational experience
  • Associate degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Continuing education in related field required.
  • Thorough knowledge of functional area and understanding of how work may impact other areas. 
  • Thorough analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills. 
  • Thorough and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills. 
  • Thorough knowledge of organization policies and procedures. 
  • Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments; i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint. 
  • Thorough knowledge of and skill in delivering programs. 
  • Thorough knowledge of current community educational programs and trends. 
  • Thorough skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new presentations / courses to meet organizational needs. 
  • Knowledge of managing a portfolio of business and management courses at the university level.
     
Special Conditions Required:
 
  • Available on-site during core hours of 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday 
  • Must be flexible with work schedule to accommodate seasonal and emergent workload demands of the organization 
  • Experience working with a senior population
