Position Summary: 

The Blood Donor Center currently has three locations: Campus Blood Donor Center, Medical Center Blood Donor Center, and Mobile Collection sites.  The incumbent will be assigned to a primary area but will be expected to work in all three areas as needed.  The incumbent screens donors, draws blood samples, assists or performs collection of whole blood and/or apheresis collections at any of the three sites as needed.  The incumbent processes blood units and prepares segments and tubes for ID testing. Responsibilities include facilitating smooth and efficient operations such as donor scheduling, registration, recruitment, and inventory stocking.

Salary Range: 

 

Hourly Rate  Minimum   $29.60                Midpoint        $29.60                Maximum    $29.60

 

Required Qualifications:

 

 

Ability to work variable shifts including evenings and weekends

Experience using computer systems and software

One year clinical laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience using lab/hospital computer systems and software

Strong customer service orientation

Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English

Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Two years of college education in a related scientific field, or related experience

Minimum two years prior Laboratory related experience
