Job Summary

Under direction of the Global Engagement Director, the Global Engagement Analyst advances strategic agendas such as campus and UC Davis engagement with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the campus Global Strategic Plan, and related Global Affairs and campus global priorities. The position focuses on collecting, analyzing, and presenting a variety of data to track UC Davis progress on global engagement, including the SDGs and campus and unit strategic plans. The position supports reports, presentations, meetings, and events and campus and external partnerships for collaborative projects. The position coordinates the administration of ongoing programs, including the quarterly Global Affairs SDGs Internship.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Insert Here BA or BS degree or equivalent and at least five years of professional experience in institutions or topics relating to international affairs or an advanced degree.

 

  • Experience performing research, data analysis, and writing for decision-makers and external audiences, with skills to think logically and identify trends and key findings and convey takeaway messages. Experience developing metric tools and methodologies and tracking progress on strategic goals and priorities.

 

  • Writing experience to produce clear, well-organized information for diverse audiences and purposes. Experience developing and delivering presentations to different types of audiences.

 

  • Experience identifying and evaluating a range of approaches, and make recommendations based on priorities, time constraints, and available resources. Ability to learn and work with a variety of data platforms. Skilled in computer systems, spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software

 

  • Experience working with quantitative and qualitative data from varied sources and engaging in data collection, organization, and presentation. Skills to research, compile analyze, and extract key findings information from reports and other sources to prepare information for management. Ability to track and explain global trends and develop data analytics.

 

  • Strong analysis and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to approach projects proactively, and to demonstrate creative problem-solving. Ability to work on collaborative project development and implementation within and across teams, and with external partners. Collegial communication skills to work collaboratively with persons of varying levels of expertise, interest, and personal investments in the activities of the program. Experience working with constituents from diverse racial, economic and cultural backgrounds and perspectives.

 

  • Ability to work both independently and in teams to take projects from conceptualization to implementation and evaluation.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Insert Here Advanced degree (M.A. or equivalent) and relevant professional experience preferred.

 

  • Experience working on international affairs-related topics or projects.

 

  • Experience working in a major research university.

 

  • Knowledge of international education interests and needs and the ability to identify and promote mutually beneficial interests and needs between UC Davis partners and other contacts.

 

  • Skills to interpret and apply UC policies and procedures; and to exercise independent judgment and make decisions based on knowledge of UC priorities, resources, policies and procedures.
