Description

The Jindal School of Management (JSOM) is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven professional to serve as Assistant Dean for JSOM Community and Corporate Relations. This role is responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive strategy to strengthen JSOM's community engagement and expand corporate partnerships across multiple areas, including advisory boards, research collaboration, student engagement, and philanthropic support.

The Assistant Dean will ensure that all initiatives align with both university-wide priorities and the school's strategic goals. A key focus of the role is to cultivate and manage relationships with industry leaders, regional corporations, chambers of commerce, and community organizations to support the growth and visibility of JSOM.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders including faculty, research centers, student organizations, and administrative leadership to identify opportunities for meaningful partnerships that deliver mutual value. This individual will also serve as a connector between JSOM and the broader DFW community, driving initiatives that promote corporate engagement, experiential learning, and community impact.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree and 5 years of related progressive experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Bachelor's degree in Management or a related field
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in corporate relations or a closely related industry
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a strategic mindset and a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage complex timelines, and drive multiple initiatives to completion
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages effectively for varied audiences
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, with a collaborative approach to working with both internal stakeholders and external partners


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Serve as a primary liaison between the Jindal School of Management (JSOM) and corporations across the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) metroplex to promote the school's programs, initiatives, and partnerships.
  • Lead the recruitment, engagement, and stewardship of members for the Dean's Advisory Board, ensuring active participation and strategic alignment with the school's goals.
  • Identify and target the top 50 corporations in the region to ensure strong representation on the Dean's Advisory Council.
  • Maintain and regularly update a comprehensive database of current and former Dean's Advisory Board members.
  • Participate in various advisory boards within the school and manage accurate records of membership and engagement.
  • Facilitate effective communication between JSOM and all advisory board members and stakeholders.
  • Strengthen connections between JSOM research centers and industry partners to foster collaboration and applied research opportunities.
  • Engage with chambers of commerce across the DFW area to promote the school and expand its regional presence.
  • Collaborate with corporate partners to plan and execute joint community service initiatives that highlight JSOM's commitment to social responsibility.
  • Source and coordinate corporate resources and engagement for the UTDSolve program.
  • Actively participate in student organization events that involve corporate engagement to strengthen ties between students and industry leaders.
  • Maintain a centralized, accurate database of all corporate contacts involved with JSOM initiatives, events, and partnerships.

OTHER DUTIES
  • Collaborate closely with the Development and Alumni Relations team to strengthen JSOM's brand within the corporate sector.
  • Provide corporate partnership leads to the Assistant Dean of Career Management to support student internship and job placement efforts.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of the JSOM brand, mission, and program offerings among external stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean in support of the Jindal School's strategic goals and community engagement.
