The Development Associate will be intellectually curious and committed to continuously improving their leadership, skills, and knowledge.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Development and Alumni Relations, this position provides support to the Assistant Dean and the development team to help advance the efforts of the centers, labs, programs, Edith and Peter O'Donnell Jr. Athenaeum performance hall and music building, and other special projects for the Bass School.The successful candidate will work with the Assistant Dean and Directors of Development, other development and alumni relations staff, faculty, and colleagues across the university to support the activities of leadership annual, major, principal, and planned gift solicitations.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree; one year administration experience; or any equivalent combination of relevant education, training & experience.



Preferred Education and Experience

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree and a desire for a career in fundraising. Preferred experience is at least one year experience in development, preferably in higher education, with proficiency using Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, or a similar constituent relationship management (CRM) system, and familiarity with pragmatic use of artificial intelligence technologies. Candidates must also possess outstanding skills in speaking and writing, as well as project, budget and time management. The position requires occasional evening/weekend hours and may require some travel. Salary will be commensurate with experience, education, and abilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Donor & Volunteer Engagement – Communicate regularly with donors, alumni, council members, and friends of the University to foster engagement and encourage philanthropic support. Coordinate donor meetings, appreciation events, and volunteer activities. Oversee the delivery of thank-you packets and annual endowment reports.

Campaign Support - Assist in the development and execution of fundraising campaigns, including major gift efforts ($25,000+).Draft compelling gift proposals and collaborate with internal teams to support campaign strategies.Contribute to initiatives that promote the University's mission and elevate donor participation.

Stewardship – Manage the acknowledgment letter process for all gifts directed to the Bass School. Prepare stewardship materials for scholarships and fellowships.Support logistics for donor appreciation events, alumni gatherings, and Advisory Council meetings.

Prospect Management – Document donor activity and engagement plans in CRM. Assist with prospect research and generate donor reports, including annual giving summaries. Ensure accurate tracking and posting of donor gifts across all levels.

General Administrative Support & Office Management – Submit travel expense reports, reconcile monthly budget, process all expenditures and reimbursements, and track and process procurement card charges. Schedule appointments with major prospects/donors and manage travel arrangements for each Fundraiser. Follow through with daily tasks from the Fundraisers as required, including calendar management, meeting preparation, mailings, correspondence, and special events assistance as needed. Process gift transmittals and coordinate with the Data and Gifts Teams to ensure accurate constituent updates and pledge handling. May supervise part-time staff and support various development-related projects.

Remote Work Notice:
