Description

The University of Texas at Dallas has an excellent job opportunity for individuals looking to join the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science team as a Multimedia/Graphics Designer.

The multimedia designer will produce content across all media platforms for the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas. The ideal candidate is an organized and skilled creative professional, strong in photography, videography and animation. Print design skills are a plus.

The multimedia designer is a member of the Jonsson School Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications Team, reporting to the assistant director, and also works collaboratively with other members of the Jonsson School and UT Dallas.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in commercial art, design, advertising or related field. A minimum of three years as a graphic designer or production assistant in a design firm, advertising agency, printing plant or similar organization or equivalent experience and education. Experience designing graphics for ads, brochures, publications, billboards and invitations.



Preferred Education and Experience

  • The multimedia designer should have at least three to five years of professional experience in a team environment. Experience in higher education or experience producing content for clients in science, technology, engineering or math fields is a plus
  • Advanced-level skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects with proficient skills in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
  • Familiarity with pre-production, production and post-production processes.
  • Ability to create storyboards and scripts, but also produce without scripts and detailed directions.
  • Familiarity with an array of camera systems, hand-held shooting and lighting setups.
  • Comfortable working on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience with creative experimentation in concepts, style and execution with engaged awareness of contemporary aesthetics and trends.
  • Flexibility to work with varying degrees of autonomy, collaboration and adaptability. Must be self-directed and able to work independently at times.
  • Adhere to and enforce brand standards and ensure all assets are aligned with the project's message, tone and visual aesthetic.
  • Audio mixing skills is a plus.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce a variety of visual projects that include digital branded content series, reels and teasers, animation, short-form social, motion graphic-heavy videos and photography. Subjects include covering events, profile pieces and more.
  • Produce motion graphics with strong After Effects skills demonstrated via previous work and/or reel.
  • Design and production of print projects.

Hybrid Remote Work Notice
Following successful completion of an initial training period, a hybrid work schedule may be available, subject to business needs and departmental approval. Employees must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be cancelled.
