Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Healthcare Leadership & Management Area is seeking Part Time Lecturers for the following areas:

Healthcare IT and Security – This graduate-level course explores the strategic role of information systems (IS) and enterprise technologies in the management and leadership of modern healthcare organizations. Students will learn to evaluate, implement, and govern enterprise-wide information systems—including HR, finance, supply chain, marketing, compliance, and legal systems—through the lens of healthcare delivery and administration. With a particular emphasis on cybersecurity, data privacy, and information governance, the course prepares future healthcare leaders to navigate the evolving regulatory landscape, protect organizational assets, and align digital infrastructure with clinical and business outcomes. Students will gain insights into IS architecture, risk mitigation strategies, and organizational transformation through technology. Designed for aspiring healthcare executives, this course blends theory with practical application using case studies, simulations, guest speakers, and industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH, NIST, HITRUST).

Data Visualization – This course provides a comprehensive exploration of data analytics and visualization techniques specifically applied to the healthcare sector. Students will learn to acquire, clean, analyze, interpret, and visually present healthcare data to support informed decision-making, improve patient outcomes, optimize operations, and address public health challenges. Key topics include healthcare data sources, data governance, descriptive and inferential statistics, predictive modeling, and various visualization methodologies using industry-standard tools. Ethical considerations and data privacy in healthcare will be integrated throughout the curriculum.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to: Responsible for developing the core curriculum. Teaching the assigned class, and completing all required assessments and training.

Prepare and teach undergraduate classes and/or labs;
Maintain contact with student population in the classroom and via electronic learning platforms (eLearning);
Contribute assessment information and data as requested through the administration and the Assessment Team;
Participate in course evaluation surveys.
