Description

Applications are invited for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the field of computational mechanics. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate mechanistic data science with computational models of advanced material systems and manufacturing processes.

Minimum Education and Experience

Ph.D in a related field.

Preferred Education and Experience

Candidates should have prior experience in the following areas:

1. Theoretical and applied solid mechanics.
2. Linear and nonlinear finite element methods and meshfree methods.
3. Programming (Python, C++) and algorithm development.
4. Experience with ANSYS/ABAQUS and user integration.
5. Scientific machine learning and parallel computing using both CPU and GPU.

Additional Qualifications for Consideration:

1. Excellent communication skills.
2. Experience with other commercial finite element codes and user integration.
3. Software development experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise graduate students and contribute to the development of codes related to the proposed research topic, ensuring their integration with existing finite element codes (both commercial and in-house).
• Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals and assist in the preparation of grant proposals.
