WHAT YOU'LL DO:

This is a temporary role. Maintain the development and quality of assigned styles across multiple brands by serving as the liaison between the Designer, Merchandiser and Supplier. The temporary Product Developer is responsible for managing all aspects of the product development calendar, execution of the product, and on-time delivery.

  • Oversee the development cycle from initial concept through production hand-off.
  • Ensure development execution is in accordance with design, allocation, sourcing, and brand strategy.
  • Lead cross functional communication and coordination of timing, calendar, product updates, approvals, and issues. 
  • Work closely with sourcing team leads to source raw materials and components while maintaining quality standards and margin goals.
  • Anticipate and identify any potential obstacles in the development process and facilitate the effective resolution of issues.
  • Identify and maintain seasonal development metrics.
  • Monitor & track the samples, trims, fabric, print, and color development approvals to/from Suppliers and internal communication.
  • Responsible for cost negotiations with the suppliers to meet or exceed margin targets.
  • Ensure that all product information is accurate in PLM system at all times during lifecycle of the product.
  • Work with Compliance team each season to ensure product meets Liberated Brands standards as well as Global laws and standards. 
  • Work with Production team each season to ensure that each style is production line appropriate.
  • Work with Fit Tech to prioritize and maintain fit approval schedule.
  • Seasonal development trips to the Suppliers (International).
  • All other duties assigned.

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • At least 3+ years of experience in apparel product development
  • Extensive attention to detail and follow through related to calendar, vendor relations, and inner dept relations.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented mindset, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in all development related activities.
  • Detailed knowledge of construction and textiles for apparel, women's apparel & swim specifically a plus.
  • Word, Excel: required knowledge at intermediate level.
  • Illustrator 10, CS, CS2: preferred knowledge at intermediate level.
  • PLM, Full Circle: experience preferred but not required.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferable but not required.
  • This position requires some hours at our HQ in Costa Mesa, CA; however, some duties can be performed remotely.

Liberated Brands is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The annual salary range for this role in Costa Mesa, CA is $26.45/hr - $33.66/hr.  This position is hybrid and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skill set, certifications, and specific work location.
