We're hiring experienced Waste Industry CDL drivers who love life on the road - and value time off it.

 

Waste Pro has an exciting new opportunity for CDL drivers. Our new travel position provides the opportunity to utilize your waste industry driving experience to support Waste Pro by assisting new and established locations with contract startups and service relief. In this role you will travel within our footprint. This position is open to individuals living anywhere in the USA! Assignments will be up to 4 weeks in length with time off between assignments. We're growing fast -- and we need driven individuals to grow with us!

While providing pro team coverage the rate of pay is $50 an hour. In addition to pay, Waste Pro will cover work related travel expenses and provide a daily per diem.

The Waste Pro print is: Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee

In this position you will operate a refuse collection vehicle across all lines of business on pre-assigned and special routes to pick up garbage, yard waste, or recycling. Oversees work of helpers assisting on assigned route; performs pre-trip and post-trip truck check and cleaning; and performs other related work as assigned. Work is performed under supervision and performance is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct weekly observation of routes, and discussion of problems

Summary:

Travels anywhere within the Waste Pro service footprint for up to four (4) work week schedules with alternating weekends home, if requested. Individuals in this position will be provided a home base when a work assignment is not available. Operates refuse collection vehicles across all lines of business on pre-assigned and special routes to pick up garbage, yard waste, or recycling. Oversees work of helpers assisting on assigned route; performs pre-trip and post-trip truck check and cleaning; and performs other related work as assigned. Work is performed under supervision and performance is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct weekly observation of routes, and discussion of problems

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Safely drives the assigned truck from any line of business, excluding tractor trailer, following all company safe and productive principles of operation
  2. Completes the assigned route as instructed by the division to which the driver is assigned.
  3. Provides Distinguishably Different level of service through courteous and expeditious customer service in all aspects of refuse operation to the general public and customers.
  4. Exhibits a positive attitude towards company, customer and municipal goals.
  5. Ensures garbage and/or recyclables are picked up and transferred properly; pick up may require using back door. Tags improper refuse containers and waste.
  6. Performs Daily Pre and Post Trip inspections as set forth by Waste Pro procedures and D.O.T. guidelines. Completes Safety Lane activity and DVIR daily in accordance with Waste Pro safety lane guidelines. Includes inspection under hood, check under carriage, check fluid levels and air tires.
  7. Maintains clean truck and washes exterior weekly. Inspect/Clean Truck: Lift hood, inspect under the hood, walk around and check under carriage; pump gas, check fluid levels and air tires - Uses air gauge, dipstick for levels, and gas pump nozzle for gas fill.
  8. Performs a variety of manual duties in the clean-up of scattered refuse; moves and empties large trash bins using truck hydraulics.
  9. Prepares, maintains, and submits required company and regulation-mandated reports and documents.
  10. Responsible for all persons working on vehicle during the designated route.
  11. Must comply with all Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
  12. May be required to work during emergency situations.
  13. Completes the agreed schedule as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability and willingness to operate all equipment of the assigned site. (Excluding tractor trailers)
  • Must meet the MVR hiring and annual review guidelines.
  • Must have a proven safety record.
  • Must be current in all required training.
  • Must have no performance deficiencies.
