Job Overview:

Security Specialist are challenged to find this balance by keeping the information secure without disrupting business but provide the maximum amount of security possible. It is the Security Engineer's responsibility to ensure best practices are followed and complied with of both the network and IT systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Configuration and Monitoring of NetIQ
- Intermediate to expert firewall knowledge
- Intermediate to expert IDS/IPS knowledge
- Intermediate to expert virus protection & content filtering knowledge
- Intermediate to expert security policy knowledge
- Knowledge and application of security standards and policy
- Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity practices
- Knowledge of operating systems and enterprise patch management
- Knowledge of common protocols such as SNMP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, NTP, LDAP, KERBEROS, RADIUS and FTP
- Understands business practice and intellectual property
- Understands change management practices
- Assists in the design of solutions, configure or support Firewalls, Content Engines, Intruder Detection or Prevention Systems
- Investigates security incidents
- Conducts security audits and provides recommendations to mitigate risks
- Configures, supports, and evaluates security tools
- Configures and supports anti-virus software
- Performs the deployment, integration and initial configuration of all new security solutions and of any enhancements to existing security solutions in accordance with standard best operating procedures generically and the enterprise's security documents specifically
- Reviews architectural designs and evaluates compliance to applicable security standards
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)
- High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employment- required
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older- required
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field- required
- OR Four (4) years' experience working in an IT related environment- required
- One (1) or more of the following valid and active certifications required:
- CompTIA Security+
- GIAC Information Security Fundamentals
- Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator: Security
- Associate of (ISC)2
- (ISC)2 CISSP
- CCSP and MCSA certifications- preferred
- Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills
- Exceptional customer service orientation
- Extensive experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
- Highly self-motivated and directed; keen attention to detail
- Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems
- Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
- Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Works cooperatively with all levels of staff
- Must have a valid and current State Driver's License and an insurable driving record for purposes of driving company vehicles as required
- Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position
- Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment.
