Warehouse Associate – Shipping & Receiving / Order Picker

Location: Warrendale, PA
Pay Rate: $18.50/hour
Shift: First Shift (Start 6:00–8:00 AM, End 2:30–4:30 PM)
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Overtime as needed)
Position Type: Long-Term Temporary (Until Feb) 

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of warehouse functions including shipping, receiving, order picking, and ensuring all customer orders are completed safely, accurately, and on time. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced environment, where attention to detail and teamwork are key to success.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Receiving

  • Verify accuracy of all shipping and receiving documents.

  • Match counts to picking/purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.

  • Collect and file all shipping/receiving documentation.

  • Pick, label, and prepare orders for shipment.

  • Schedule inbound/outbound freight in coordination with the Warehouse Manager.

  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

  • Identify and process backorders for expedited handling.

  • Receive UPS orders, verify product categories, and stock accordingly.

  • Verify accuracy of incoming merchandise.

Order Picking/Pulling

  • Use warehouse management system (WMS) to identify items for picking.

  • Accurately pick customer orders and stage them for shipment.

  • Safely operate material handling equipment to transport and organize items.

  • Repack, weigh, and organize orders as needed.

  • Maintain warehouse equipment and report issues.

  • Support overall warehouse safety and security.

Additional Functions

  • Place incoming merchandise into inventory.

  • Conduct physical inventories as needed.

  • Operate forklifts for unloading/loading trucks.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous warehouse or distribution center experience preferred.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram instructions.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

  • Must be flexible to work overtime when required.

Physical & Safety Requirements
  • Must wear protective footwear meeting ASTM F2413-11 standards (self-provided, required on Day 1).

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and operate warehouse equipment throughout the shift.
