About this Position

Student Ambassadors enhance the student access to college resources by providing basic information regarding admission, enrollment, financial aid, and OSU-OKC degree programs. Student Ambassadors assist with on and off campus recruitment events. Primary duties involve communicating with students by phone, email, in person, and various communication platforms. 

Required Qualifications
  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
    • Prior experience working in an office setting or customer service environment.
  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
    • Currently enrolled as a student at OSU-OKC
Preferred Qualifications
  • No Degree
    • Familiarity with the OSU-OKC campus and enrollment process.
  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly, and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information, give/receive instructions and respond to inquiries appropriately with all students, faculty, staff and community partners.
    • Accurate typing/data entry skills and demonstrated ability to work with attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and also collaborate within a team environment. 
    • Demonstrated knowledge of office technologies including but not limited to: office computers, fax machines, scanners, internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Passion for assisting students with educational endeavors and representing the OSU-OKC and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism.
    • Demonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Present information to prospective students and their families regarding OSU-OKC degree programs, admission, enrollment, financial aid, and scholarships.
  2. Maintain confidentiality of student records and observe policies related to student privacy (FERPA).
  3. Assist students with forms, software, and services related to admission, enrollment, and other student services.
  4. Contact prospective students by various platforms to assist with questions and encourage admission and enrollment.
  5. Assist with student traffic during peak enrollment.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include some nights and weekends.
  • Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone, via email, and various communication platforms.

Physical Requirements:

  • Duties require extended periods of sitting, talking and listening.
  • Duties require extensive use of computers, telephone and other office equipment.
  • Requires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs. (If an object weights more than 45 lbs., OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two-person lift).
