What's a typical day as a Maintenance Technician Level 2:
The primary function of this position is to ensure the plant facility systems are maintained operational, identify and follow through on repairs,
assigning repairs to Facilities Technician or by working with vendors as necessary.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshoot and repair machinery in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to Allen Bradley PLCs, frequency drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, servo motors, refrigeration systems (NH3), boiler systems, and HVAC systems.

Apply mechanical and electrical expertise to perform routine and unscheduled maintenance on various systems and equipment.

Utilize knowledge of food manufacturing practices, sanitary design, and Six Sigma techniques (e.g., 5-S) to ensure efficient operations and safety standards.

Work independently to carry out instructions related to the maintenance department's operations, with minimal supervision.

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals to understand system layouts and repair requirements.

Plan and estimate materials and costs for repairs, ensuring the efficient completion of projects.

Utilize a variety of tools and instruments specific to the trade, as well as tools from other trades, to design, build, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery, equipment, and structures.

Assist with preventive maintenance activities on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.

Maintain accurate records and inventories related to equipment maintenance, parts, and materials.

Ensure that work areas are kept clean, organized, and in compliance with safety protocols.

Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall operational efficiency.

Work collaboratively with team members, maintaining a motivated and cooperative work environment.

Be available to work alternative shifts and schedules as needed to meet operational demands.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

A 2-year technical degree in a related field or equivalent on the job experience
-
Possess a high level of machine troubleshooting ability in a manufacturing environment including but not limited to: Allen Bradley PLC's,

Food Manufacturing experience, Sanitary Design experience, and knowledge of SIX SIGMA techniques such as 5-S would be a plus.

Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude*Must operate with a high degree of proficiency
